My Christian Beliefs

The Release Into Your Destiny and/or The Banqueting House Workbooks, Products, Courses, Speaking Engagements, Website, Events, Workshops and/or Retreats or other Venues are a huge part of Ms. Scanlon’s Public Speaking and Writing Career. Though the Release Into Your Destiny and/or The Banqueting House Workbooks, Products, Speaking Engagements, Website(s), Courses, Events, Workshops and/or Retreats or other Venues are not a direct work of any one particular Church or Ministry, Ms. Scanlon still believes it is important for the general public to be aware of her Non-Denominational Religious Beliefs regarding our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, God – the Father, and the Holy Spirit. Below is the core of her written Statement of Faith. Please feel free to read through it and be assured that we are all firm believers in and followers of Christ. Thank you!

The Authority of the Bible

We believe the Bible, in its entirety, is God-inspired and therefore is the authoritative rule over all creation, and was written with the intent that it is to be lived out on a daily basis by all Christians. We firmly believe that the Scriptures can be fulfilled, were specifically written as instruction for such fulfillment, and cannot and must not be broken in any one point. We believe the Scriptures are the perfect expression of God’s Will and Character as expressed through His Word. We believe the Epistles are the expression of what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has done for us as well as what He desires to do through us. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 1:1-3; John 10:35; Matthew 5:19, 19:17; 1 John 2:3-4)

The Eternal Godhead

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Therefore Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are united as One and are equally Divine and therefore eternally equal in Deity. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10; Matthew 1:20-25; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; John 14:16; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7-8)

Man and Original Purpose

We believe man was created in the image of God and that his purpose is to have dominion over everything God has given us dominion over according to what is written in His Word. (Genesis 1:26-28)

Spirit Beings: Satan, Demons, and Angels

We firmly believe that there is a literal Devil (Satan) and that he is the direct adversary of God and man. We also firmly believe that there are spirit beings known as demons working for Satan and Angels whom work directly for God, which are capable of manifesting in the natural as well as in the spirit realm. (1 Peter 5:8; Matthew 8:16; Mark 16:17; Hebrews 1:7, 13-14)

The Adamic Fall of Man

We believe that shortly after the creation of man, and by voluntary disobedience, man fell from perfection, causing all to thereafter live as sinners. (Romans 5:12)

Sin

We believe that whatsoever is not of faith is sin and that our sin has been forgiven and not imputed unto us. We believe that if we confess our sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, who acts on our behalf, and who will then cleanse us of all unrighteousness. (Romans 4:8; 6:14; 14:23; 1 John 1:9-2:1)

Salvation

We believe that man must be born again and baptized in water and the Holy Ghost in the Name of Jesus in order to see and enter into the Kingdom of God. We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, securing the pardon for all of eternity and for all who believe in Him, that we have no righteousness (of our own) and must come to God pleading the righteousness of Christ as our only justification of our sin. We believe we are saved by Grace through Faith and that it is a free gift of God for all of mankind. We believe that if we confess Jesus as Lord with our mouth and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:8; Mark 16:16; Matthew 3:16; John 3:3; Romans 10:9; Philippians 2:11)

Sanctification

We believe that Christ is our sanctification and we are therefore sanctified upon receiving Him as our Savior and Lord over our life. As we continually grow in Grace and in Christ we will also continually grow in Holiness of life. (1 Corinthians 1:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Peter 3:18)

The Power of the Holy Spirit in Us

We believe that the infilling of the Holy Ghost and Fire is available to all believers, is evidenced by the speaking of tongues (Heavenly languages), empowers us to live a life pleasing to God, empowers us to do the works of Christ and greater works, empowers and enables us to use each and every gift of the Holy Spirit, empowers us to destroy the works of the devil, and empowers us to meet the needs of all humanity. (Matthew 3:11; John 14:12; 16:7-16; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; 1 John 3:8, Acts 2:3-4)

Healing

We believe Divine Healing is available to all, all believers have the direct Power of God through the Holy Spirit to heal the sick (in spirit, mind or body), that God is capable of Healing every sickness and disease known to man, that healing for every person was included in Christ’s atoning sacrifice, and that it is God’s will for every Christian to minister healing to anyone at any time. (Psalm 103:2; Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8:16-17; 1 Peter 2:24; John 14:12)

The Church – The Body of Christ

We believe the church (on earth) is comprised of all in whom the Holy Spirit dwells, and that the church is the body of Christ upon the earth, is to grow in Him, is to rise up in His Power in all things, and is called to do greater works than Christ. (Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:23; 4:12-16; John 14:12)

Ministry

We believe that God has ordained and has duly called every member of the Body of Christ (the church) to a Divine Purpose in Life or to Ministry, each with various different purposes to fulfill through their Spiritual Gifts and/or the natural Gifts and Talents He has given us, and putting into place certain persons charged with the equipping and edification of the saints, encouraging them to become fully Christ-like by walking in His Power and Authority that is given to every Spirit-filled believer and by encouraging them to take on the mind of Christ in all things. (Mark 3:14; John 15:16; Ephesians 4:11-15; Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:1-3; 1 Corinthians 2:16; Matthew 10:1; Mark 6:7; Luke 9:1; Luke 10:19; John 1:12)

The Judgment

We believe that the Judgment of God has been passed onto Jesus Christ. That Jesus will Judge all upon death, and there is an appointed day of Judgment for all. (John 5:22; Romans 14:12; Ecclesiastes 3:1-2; Acts 17:30-31)

Faith Towards God

We believe that we are at all times to have faith towards God based upon His promises and that the fulfillment of those promises are based upon God’s complete faithfulness to us. We believe that we are to have faith in God and not in our own faith. Our faith is that God has and will continue to keep His Word. (Mark 11:22-23; Hebrews 6:1; Hebrews 11:6; 11:11; 2 Timothy 2:13)

The Kingdom of God

We believe the Kingdom of God is what Jesus preached and demonstrated and that we are to continue His ministry in the same manner and with the same results. We also believe that we are to advance the Kingdom of God upon the earth until such time as Christ shall entreat us to enter into the joy of our Lord by taking us home to be with Him for all of eternity. (Mark 1:15; Luke 4:43; Luke 9:60-10:11; Acts 8:12; 19:8; 20:25; 1 Corinthians 4:20; 2 Thessalonians 1:5; Matthew 25:19-23; 2 Corinthians 5:8)

Christ’s Return

We believe in the return of Jesus Christ, to consummate His Kingdom, in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:28-29; Mark 14:62; 2 Thessalonians 1:2-10; Revelation 1:5-7; 20:4-5, 11-12

And, we strongly believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 17:11, 21-23; Romans 12:4-5; Ephesians 4:11-16
